This is a view of what has come to be known as a typical San Francisco summer day -- such a day as prompted Mark Twain to say the coldest winter he spent was the summer he spent in San Francisco. However, it is noteworthy that, as we republish this photo in a larger size on October 20, 2008, we had a very atypical summer (lots of warm, sunny days) during 2008. Perhaps, due to global warming, our cold, overcast summers may be a thing of the past. Maybe not. A City Birds digital photo. |
