This American Kestrel, Americas' smallest falcon, is hungry and taking warmth from the Sun breaking through the clouds. The bird is patiently waiting for an unsuspecting House Finch to arrive on the scene. During past years the Kestrel was the biggest threat to the finches. However during 2003-04 migrations, the Kestrel has been rarely seen.
NOTE: At 2007, both the tree and the Kestrels are now gone. A City Birds digital photo. |
