This is a garden in City Birds Country, the Heart of San Francisco, on a dark, wet Winter day, 2004. Located on the windward side of Nob Hill, the trunk of an old-growth pine seen in the foreground, as well as the tree's branches, are carefully pruned in order to prevent the tree from being uprooted during possible high winds coming in from the Pacific. NOTE: Sadly the owner of the tree had it sawed to the ground in 2007 in order to accommodate sunbathing. A City Birds photo. |
