The more pictures one takes, the better one learns the use of a digital camera and what it can and cannot do. Then when a truly lucky shot, such as this one, comes along, the photographer is prepared. The Crow's cawing signaled this shot. The gull is struggling to take off into a strong West wind. This may appear stupid, but when reaching an altitude of around 100-200 feet, the gull made a sharp turn to the East, opened its wings wide and, pushed by the West wind, zoomed high up into the sky. (The foreground is coincidental.) A City Birds digital photo. |
