WWII Jeeps
A couple of veterans brought their beautiful WWII Jeeps to the Parade Ground and participated in the Memorial Day 2004 parade at the Presidio of San Francisco.

The general, all-purpose vehicle (shortened to "Jeep") was the "Hummer" of World War II and beyond.  It served as transportation, as battlefield ambulances, portable machine gun positions, etc.  Over 400,000 were produced during WWII.

The Jeep was reliable, rugged and a blast to drive.  A City Birds digital photo.
