The markers of our heroes provide a lot of history to think about. Our National Cemeteries, as well as local cemeteries throughout the land, provide an opportunity to reflect on the true cost of war and to mingle among the heroes who paid the price for those wars.
Sergeant Jean Pierre V. Pellicano, a French citizen, was born in 1947 and died in the Vietnam War at the age of 21 years. Sgt. Pellicano was a member of the famed Americal Division formed during WWII in French New Caledonia. He was awarded the Bronze Service Medal and Purple Heart. A City Birds digital photo. |
