Mid-morning on Memorial Day (May 30) 2005, the Marin Headlands were sunny, with temperatures perfect for climbing around the hills. In this picture, to the left the oval area is Vista Point where many people were enjoying the holiday -- listening to soft patriotic music while soaking up the beautiful vistas around them.
In the center are some of the buildings of Fort Baker (The waters around Fort Baker have ruins of old coastal artillery positions.). To the right is Horseshoe Bay, a protected area for small boats. And, of course, in the foreground is the Northern approach to the Golden Gate Bridge. A City Birds digital photo. |
